What this tool actually does

The editor opens with a blank classic skin template you can paint on directly. Use the pencil to set individual pixels, the eraser to clear them, the bucket to fill a region, and the eyedropper to sample a color from the atlas. The 3D preview on the right shows the skin wrapped onto the standard player model and updates as you edit. When you're happy with the result, the Export button downloads a 64×64 PNG file you can use as a custom skin.

Classic and slim

Switch between the 4-pixel and 3-pixel arm model from the sidebar. The atlas guide and preview both follow your choice.

Base and outer layer

Edit the inner skin or the second layer (hat, jacket, sleeves, pants). The guide overlay dims the layer you aren't editing so you don't paint into the wrong region.

Open an existing skin

Import a 64×64 (or 64×32 legacy) PNG to keep editing a skin you already have. Files are read in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

How to make a skin here

  1. Pick classic or slim from the Model section in the sidebar.
  2. Click a part in the Body parts list to jump to the right area of the atlas.
  3. Choose a color from the palette or the picker, then paint pixel by pixel with the pencil.
  4. Switch to the Outer layer to add hair, a hat, a jacket, or sleeves on top of the base skin.
  5. Rotate the 3D preview by dragging it to check how the skin looks from every side.
  6. Press Export PNG to download the finished 64×64 skin file.

Frequently asked questions

Does this skin maker run in the browser?

Yes. Painting, the 3D preview, importing an existing skin, and exporting all happen in your browser. The site doesn't upload your skin.

Can I edit a skin I already have?

Yes. Use Import PNG and pick a 64×64 (or 64×32 legacy) skin file from your device. It loads onto the atlas and into the preview.

What's the difference between classic and slim?

Classic skins use 4-pixel-wide arms. Slim skins use 3-pixel-wide arms (sometimes called the Alex model). Switch between them in the Model section of the sidebar.

Is the 3D preview accurate?

The preview uses the standard 64×64 atlas mapping and shows both the base skin and the outer overlay. It's intended to make editing decisions easy; in-game shading may look slightly different.

Where can I use the finished skin?

The exported PNG is a standard Minecraft-compatible skin file. See the upload guide for steps on Java Edition and supported Bedrock/mobile platforms.

Is this an official Minecraft tool?

No. This is an unofficial browser tool that produces standard skin files. It is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
